Shipping your devices back to us

Tips on how to return your tech safely πŸ“¦

Quality packaging is key to keeping your device safe during transit. Seeto works closely with trusted couriers and provides insurance for each package, but taking the extra step to carefully box your old laptop makes a difference in ensuring it arrives in perfect condition!

The right box makes all the difference

If you’re returning a laptop back to us, you must pack your device or devices in packaging that will survive the trip. Use a high-quality corrugated cardboard box that snugly fits the laptop. For mobile phones, often a good-quality padded envelope is ideal.

Not too big, not too full

Avoid large, under-filled boxes as they are liable to be squashed and damaged in transit. Over-stuffed boxes might burst open, so if it won’t all fit, use a bigger box.

No empty spaces

Use bubblewrap or packing peanuts to protect the items in your box. Your device shouldn’t be able to move, as this can cause damage. Fill any empty spaces.

Protect that plug

The metal prongs of your plug can damage your laptop. Make sure any plugs are well wrapped in multiple layers of bubblewrap so that they don’t scratch or cause other damage to the laptop.

Reuse with care

If you are reusing an old box, make sure it is still strong enough to handle some knocks and scrapes. Cover up old labels so it gets where it needs to get to. Tape over all the seams for extra protection.

No plastic bags

Protect your devices properly, don’t be tempted to send them back in an old Tesco bag, they won’t get there in one piece.

No tissue paper

Tissue paper doesn’t offer sufficient protection for your devices, avoid using it.

With tape, there’s no escape

The tape you choose and how you seal your box protect the contents from being exposed or damaged in transit. Use plenty of tape and seal all the edges – your device should be well sealed so nothing can escape!

βœ”οΈ Try to use

  • Brown or clear plastic parcel tape
  • Duct tape
  • Electrical tape

❌ Avoid using

  • Paper tape
  • Washi tape
  • String

Label it and send it on its way! 🚚

Print the label πŸ–¨οΈ

Before your driver arrives, you must print the two-page shipping label and have these ready to present to the driver on collection.

If you don’t have a printer to hand, a friend or relative with a printer may be able to print the label for you. Alternatively, local libraries often have inexpensive printing (and sometimes even a web print or email-to-print facility) available. Failing that, a local stationer may be able to help.

Hand it over πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

A driver from the shipping partner company will endeavour to arrive during the agreed collection time. This is generally between 9am and 5pm on the day of collection.

Hand the driver your sealed parcel and printed shipping labels.

We’ve got it 🏀
